1 person dead after an auto-pedestrian collision in Winnetka (Los Angeles, CA)

On Monday evening, one person was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Winnetka.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place at about 6:20 p.m. on Winnetka Avenue near John A. Sutter Middle School. The early reports revealed that the body of a pedestrian that got hit by a vehicle was found at the crash site. The person suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. It is unclear if or not the crash was a hit-and-run.

Reports later added that one of the three drivers who struck the pedestrian returned to the scene, where they were detained on charges of felony hit-and-run. Officers are still looking for possibly two additional drivers that were also involved in the collision. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under active review.
