On early Thursday morning, officers saved two women from a burning vehicle after a traffic accident on the city’s North Side.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place at about 2:50 a.m. near the intersection of Fredericksburg Road and West Hildebrand Avenue. The early reports indicated that the driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle, jumped two curbs and crashed into an urgent care parking lot.
Due to the impact, the front of the vehicle caught fire. On arrival, responders found the driver unresponsive. Crews rescued both the driver and the passenger from the burning vehicle and extinguished the fire. Both the victims refused medical aid at the scene. No other details are available.
An investigation is underway.
