On Monday afternoon, eight people were injured following a multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 15.

As per the initial information, the three-vehicle pile-up took place at 1:25 p.m. on Interstate 15 near the California State Line. The early reports revealed that a tractor-trailer driver did not yield for stopped traffic on Interstate 15 and collided with a Dodge Ram with four adults and a child inside.

Due to the impact, the Dodge Ram crashed into a Bentley with one adult occupant and three children inside. Reports further showed that the driver of the semi-truck failed to use due care and decrease speed. On arrival, crews airlifted the Dodge Ram driver to University Medical Center.

Four other occupants of the Dodge were taken to the hospital through ambulance. Paramedics also transported the Bentley driver and the two children to UMC. Traffic in the southbound lanes of the interstate was delayed after the accident. One of three lanes was open to traffic as of 2 p.m. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
