Authorities identified 68-year-old Jill Zakett, of Hastings and 34-year-old Thomas Zakett, from Beaverton, as the victims who lost their lives following a two-vehicle accident Friday morning near Lake Odessa.
The fatal car crash took place just after 9 a.m. near the intersection of Hastings and Thompson Roads, west of Lake Odessa. According to the investigation reports, a Pontiac Vibe, driven by Jill Zakett, was traveling northbound on Hastings Road when the car failed to stop at the intersection and got struck by an eastbound GMC pickup truck.
Jill Zakett and Thomas Zakett were both declared deceased at the scene by the officials. The driver of the pickup truck was rushed to the hospital with non-fatal injuries. No other details are made available.
An investigation is ongoing.
