A car slams into a tree after hitting a deer on North Side; driver dead (San Antonio, TX)

On Thursday, a driver struck a deer before slamming into a tree on a North Side road. The driver, a female, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-car accident took place at about 2:30 a.m. in the 13700 block of Jones Maltsberger Road, close to Carlton Oaks. The preliminary investigation showed the woman was driving a 2015 Honda Accord on Jones Maltsberger when a deer crossed the road in front of her.

The reports further revealed that the car hit the deer, swerved across the road and slammed into a tree. The female driver suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
