A 65-year-old woman lost her life and 64-year-old Patrick Bass received serious injuries following a two-vehicle accident early Tuesday in Las Vegas.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-car collision took place at Rainbow Boulevard and Sahara Avenue just after 1:15 a.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Buick Lucerne went through a red light as it was westbound on Sahara, crashing into a 2018 Hyundai Tucson SUV that was southbound on Rainbow.

The woman who died was a passenger in the Hyundai. The driver of the Hyundai, identified as 64-year-old Patrick Bass, of Las Vegas, was rushed to University Medical Center with serious injuries and remains in intensive care. The reports also revealed that the Hyundai rolled over several times as a result of the collision.

One of the drivers was possibly impaired at the time of the accident. The driver of the Buick was placed in custody and taken to UMC with moderate injuries. The intersection was shut down in all directions until almost 8 a.m. while crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.
