On Monday evening, three people suffered injuries following a multi-vehicle wreck in Jenison.
The three-vehicle pile-up took place at about 6:15 p.m. on Cottonwood Drive at Bauer Road. The early reports showed that the driver of a southbound Infiniti failed to maintain control of the car as a result of which the vehicle went over the centerline and collided with two northbound vehicles, a Honda and a Toyota.
The driver of the Infiniti, a 21-year-old from Grand Rapids, had to be extricated from his car by rescuers. He was then rushed to the hospital with major injuries. His passenger, a 21-year-old from Novi, incurred only minor injuries and got his own medical treatment.
The driver of Toyota, a 35-year-old Jenison woman, received minor injuries. She was transported to the hospital through ambulance. The driver of the Honda, a 45-year-old Hudsonville woman, and her passenger, a 50-year-old Hudsonville man remained uninjured. Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
