On early Friday morning, two people were injured after a semi-truck plunged off Buckeye overpass and hit a parked pickup truck below on Miller Road, spilling debris.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place at about 6 a.m. close to I-10 and Miller Road. The early reports showed that a semi-truck went off the freeway at the Miller Road overpass and struck a construction pick-up truck that was parked on Miller Road. The reports further revealed that the drivers of both the trucks managed to get themselves out of their vehicles before they were transported to hospitals.
Both the victims were reportedly listed in stable condition. A large number of boxes full of almond flour, which was being carried by the semi at the time of the accident, spilled onto the roadway. As of now, the Miller Road exit is closed. I-10 traffic was not affected due to the wreck.
An investigation is ongoing.
