A man lost his life after getting hit by a vehicle on a Northwest Side street.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place at about 5 a.m. on Huebner Road and Research Drive. The early reports indicated that the driver failed to see the man crossing the street and struck him. The male pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene by the officials.

Police mentioned that the driver was not intoxicated and will not face any charges at this time. The area was blocked for about an hour while crews worked at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
