On Thursday afternoon, 31-year-old Antwong Hall lost his life while a 28-year-old driver suffered major injuries after a two-vehicle collision at Trinity Lane.
Officials actively responded to the area of Trinity Lane and Gallatin Road after getting reports of a car crash. The early reports indicated that Hall was driving a Nissan Altima when he drifted on the wrong side of the roadway into oncoming traffic to avoid a pedestrian. Just then, his vehicle crashed head-on into a Honda Accord, injuring a 28-year-old driver.
Authorities stated that the pedestrian was pushing a cart in the middle of the left turn lane and was going east at that time. The pedestrian was not hit and continued walking in the roadway as he left the scene. Hall died of his injuries after the accident. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The 28-year-old driver of the Honda is expected to survive. Impairment does not seem to be involved in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
