On Thursday morning, authorities reported a chain-reaction accident, involving a Tyler school bus at railroad crossing.

As per the initial information, the incident took place at about 7:15 a.m. The early reports revealed that a Tyler ISD bus 43 was stopped at the railroad tracks on S. Loop 323, close to Old Troup Highway. Just then, another vehicle behind the bus was unable to stop and rear-ended the vehicle in front of it, causing a chain reaction with that car hitting the bus from behind.

According to law, school buses must pull over at all railroad tracks. Officials mentioned that 10 students were on the bus, including one middle school student and nine high school students. All the occupants of the bus remained uninjured. It is unknown at this time if any other driver suffered injuries as a result of the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
