A vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian on Spain Street (Sonoma, CA)

On Tuesday, a dog was killed and one person sustained injuries following an auto-pedestrian crash on Spain Street.

As per the initial information, the incident took place at around 10 a.m. at Third Street West.  The preliminary investigation showed that the pedestrian was walking his dog on Spain Street when a driver that was turning left, out of the Vallejo Home, failed to see the small dog trailing behind its owner on a chain.

The dog was killed after the collision. On the other hand, the pedestrian suffered a head injury and was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. The identity of the injured victim has not been released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
