A car hit and killed a bicyclist in central Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

On Thursday night, a man lost his life following a bicycle crash in central Phoenix.

As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place near 18th Street and Thomas Road at about 7 p.m. in which a car and a bicycle were involved. The bicyclist died as a result of the collision. Officers did not confirm if the car driver remained at the scene or not after the collision.

The area was shut down for some time as crews worked at the scene. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified.

The crash remains under active review.
