On Sunday, an auto-pedestrian accident claimed the life of a 28-year-old Kent man on eastbound I-90.
As per the initial information, the fatal crash took place at 6:38 AM on I-90 eastbound, just west of milepost 43. The preliminary investigation showed that a pedestrian in dark clothing was walking in lane one when a 2017 truck going in the same lane hit the pedestrian. Both the vehicle and pedestrian came to a stop in lane one after the collision.
The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The truck’s driver remained unharmed as they were reportedly wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash. The stated cause of the accident is “pedestrian in the roadway.”
An investigation into the crash is continuing.
