A vehicle hit and killed a man lying in a St. Bernard area roadway (New Orleans, LA)

On Wednesday morning, a man lost his life after getting struck by a vehicle while he was lying in a St. Bernard area roadway in New Orleans.

As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place at about 4:30 a.m., at the intersection of Cadillac and Senate Streets, close to McDonogh 35 High School. New Orleans Police later confirmed that the man was reportedly lying in the road when he was hit by a passing vehicle.

As of now, it is unknown why he was in the road. The early reports showed that the driver waited at the crash scene to answer questions. The involved driver is not facing any charges. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified.

The incident remains under investigation.
