A vehicle hit and injured a 29-year-old man in Holland (Holland, MI)

On Wednesday evening, a 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car in Holland.

Officers quickly responded to the area of US-31, north of 8th Street at about 11:10 p.m. after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian accident. The early reports showed that the man walked in the roadway to pick a gas grill that had fallen out of the bed of his pickup truck. Officers mentioned that the part of the roadway was unlit at that time. Just then, a car driven by a 63-year-old woman hit the man as he was in the roadway.

On arrival, medics rushed the pedestrian to Holland Community Hospital with major injuries and he was later transported to Spectrum Butterworth for further treatment. The officials have not provided any details about the man’s current condition. The driver of the vehicle and her 59-year-old passenger remained uninjured.

The incident remains under investigation.
