On Thursday, a 79-year-old man was left in a hospital after a fiery accident near Nunica.
As per the initial information, the two-car collision took place at about 1:50 p.m. at the intersection of Cleveland Street and Patchin Boulevard in Crockery Township. The preliminary reports showed that a 63-year-old man from Nunica was making a left turn onto Patchin Boulevard from eastbound Cleveland Street. At that moment, he failed to yield to a 79-year-old man from Grand Haven going Westbound on Cleveland Street and the two cars collided with each other.
Reports further indicated that the car driven by the man from Grand Haven had caught fire due to the crash. On arrival, emergency crew managed to extinguish the fire. The Grand Haven driver was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. It is unknown if the other driver received injuries as a result of the accident.
The crash remains under review.
