A vehicle struck and killed a male pedestrian on the Far West Side (San Antonio, TX)

On Tuesday, a male pedestrian lost his life after being struck by a car on the Far West Side.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place a little before 9:30 p.m. on SW Loop 410 and Marbach Road. The early investigation suggested that a man in his 60s was walking on the main lanes of Loop 410 when a vehicle hit him. The driver informed the officers that he was unsure what he struck so he stopped.

The driver found that the man was not breathing so he called 911 for help and performed CPR on the victim. On arrival, emergency crews transported the patient to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries just after he arrived there. Officers mentioned that the driver was not intoxicated and is not facing any charges.

An investigation is underway.
