On Tuesday morning, a multi-vehicle pileup, including an overturned trailer, led to the closure of lanes.
As per the initial information, the incident took place at about 7:18 a.m. on I-24, close to Waldron Road, at mile marker 64 in which three vehicles were involved. The preliminary investigation showed that a tractor trailer rig overturned as a result of the crash and led to the closure of three of the four lanes of westbound traffic towards Nashville.
Authorities rerouted the traffic flow onto the New Nashville Highway (41-70) between the Sam Ridley Parkway and Old Hickory Boulevard. T-DOT crews managed to reopen all the lanes of westbound I-24 at approximately 10:30 a.m. It is unclear at this time if anyone suffered injuries after the wreck.
An investigation is continuing.
