On Saturday evening, a three-vehicle accident led to injuries and officers arrested a driver who caused two vehicles to roll on 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita.

Officers quickly responded to the crash scene at about 7 p.m. on the southbound 14 Freeway, just north of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country. On arrival, officers found two vehicles on their side with one in the No. 1 lane and the other on the roadside, with wreckage spread across all lanes.

Paramedics arrived and found a passenger in one of the vehicles with “their legs pinned” and an unconscious person was pinned inside one of the vehicles. The unconscious person gained consciousness shortly after. A bystander informed the authorities that a white car veered into another lane and continued to exit at the Sand Canyon off-ramp in an unknown direction. The driver who caused the accident had visible damage and was heading on a rim before being located by officers.

Officers said in a statement that “It looks like somebody walked away from the crash, whether they purposefully fled or just pulled over to a safer location is unknown at this time,” As of 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, it is unconfirmed how many people were injuries and what is the severity of those injuries.  As of 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, a Sig Alert was announced for the No. 3 lane of the 14 Freeway for about one hour as crews worked at the crash scene. The Sig Alert was cancelled at around 8:30 p.m.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
