On Monday night, a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a driver in the unincorporated area near Covina.
As per the initial reports, the deadly crash happened at around 11 p.m. in the unincorporated area near Covina. Investigation of the crash revealed that a 1989 Ford Ranger was speeding while traveling south on the 4200 block of Sunflower Avenue when it collided head-on with a cinder block wall and a metal gate.
The California Highway Patrol actively responded to the crash scene. The victim was described as a Covina man in his 50s. He was pronounced dead by the officials. The authorities are waiting for the autopsy report to find out if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash or not. The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed.
The investigation of the crash is ongoing.
