Authorities identified 46-year-old Cameron Overshown who died in an auto-pedestrian crash on Highway 31 (Tyler, TX)

Authorities released the name of 46-year-old Cameron Overshown, a Tyler man, who lost his life after being struck by a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Marylan Douglas, of Larue on Highway 31 West.

According to the officials, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place on early Sunday morning at about 2 a.m. just east of Greenbriar Road. As per the police reports, a vehicle driven by Marylan Douglas was heading west on HWY 31 W.

At the same time, Cameron Overshown was escorting people across the roadway to a nearby parking lot from a private venue. Just then, the vehicle hit Overshown and he was rushed to a Tyler hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Douglas was provided medical aid at the scene and then released.

An investigation is ongoing.
