Houston and Humble Police Departments reported that a crash took place on the Eastex Freeway near Rankin Rd just before 9:30 AM. The multi-vehicle incident closed down the southbound lanes for many hours on Sunday.
A big rig and at least 4 other vehicles were involved in the accident. Those injured in the crash were swiftly transported to the hospital, but the police authorities did not have an update on their conditions. 1 other person was reported to be trapped in the crash.
The freeway was fully cleared after 1:30 PM.
Police did not say what the cause of the incident was and further details are awaited.
