The Texas Department Of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident on Monday. The officials confirmed that one person died in the accident. According to the officials, the deceased victim was identified as 55-year-old Troy Walter Hack of Edinburg.
Around 8:36 a.m., the crash happened in the area of W. Cano Street and 10th Avenue when the driver of a truck was travelling south while 55-year-old Troy Walter Hack of Edinburg was crossing the street. Hack was then struck by the large vehicle.
The driver of the truck stopped to render aid and there are no indications that alcohol was a factor in the crash. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries an hour later.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
