  • 34-year-old Cartez D James dead after a pedestrian crash in Avoyelles Parish (Avoyelles Parish, LA)

On Sunday night, 34-year-old Cartez D James, a resident of Marksville, lost his life after getting struck by a vehicle in Avoyelles Parish.

As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian accident took place on Highway 107 at about 7 p.m. The preliminary investigation showed that Cartez D James was walking in the roadway when he got hit by a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado.

James suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. It is unknown if the driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene or not after the accident. Routine toxicology tests are pending, officials mentioned. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
