An investigation is underway following a fatal crash in Albuquerque on Saturday at the intersection of Coors Boulevard NW and Sevilla Avenue NW, as reported by the Albuquerque Police Department (APD).
Preliminary details suggest that a Ford Mustang traveling north on Coors engaged in what appeared to be a racing gesture with another vehicle. The Mustang then sped off, maneuvering recklessly through traffic and disregarding a red light.
At the same time, a black Ford Edge with a green light was turning left onto Coors Blvd. when it was struck by the Mustang, resulting in a collision that claimed the life of the Edge’s driver.
The Mustang’s driver, identified as Isaiah Sena, 20, faces charges of reckless driving and homicide by vehicle once released from the hospital, where he is currently hospitalized.
Authorities continue their investigation into the incident.
