1 person dead after an auto-pedestrian collision in north Austin (Austin, TX)

On Sunday morning, one person was killed after getting struck by a vehicle in north Austin.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place on Research Boulevard near the intersection with North Lamar Boulevard a little before 2 a.m. The early reports showed that a vehicle hit a pedestrian for undetermined reasons.

Officials closed a portion of US 183 as crews worked at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other information has been released by the authorities.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
