A two-vehicle crash on Highway 49 left three people with minor injuries on July 5, 2026, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The collision occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. about five miles north of Annapolis in Iron County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol's online crash report, a 1997 Chevrolet S-10 was traveling northbound on Highway 49 when it collided with a 2012 Jeep Liberty traveling southbound.

The patrol's report identifies a 35-year-old woman from Desloge as sustaining minor injuries; she was transported for medical treatment. Two occupants of the second vehicle, a 51-year-old woman and a 72-year-old woman, both from Ironton, also sustained minor injuries, the report states.

No fatalities were reported in connection with the crash. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop E is investigating the incident, which has been logged under incident number 260281498.
