Beyoncé swaps the flying Cadillac for a flying gold horse, following a scary mid-air stage mishap in Houston last month.

Beyoncé has made a noticeable change to her Cowboy Carter Tour after the recent mishap that saw her flying Cadillac tilting mid-air with her aboard. In the closing moments of her July 10 show in Atlanta, Queen Bey introduced the audience to a gold mechanical horse, suspended by wires. Complete with galloping leg movements, the horse carried Beyoncé above the crowd as she performed her hit “16 Carriages.”

The change comes on the heels of the headline-grabbing incident that could have led to serious problems. On June 28, while performing the same song in a red Cadillac suspended above the stage, the vehicle began to tilt unexpectedly.

Fan footage of the incident caught the star calmly saying “stop” multiple times before she was safely lowered back onto the stage. Without losing her cool, the superstar thanked fans for their patience during the moment.

Afterward, “16 Carriages” was removed from the setlist on June 29. Instead, the star ended the performance with “Amen,” which also replaced the track during two shows in Washington, D.C., on July 4 and 7.

Beyoncé’s gold horse is similar to the silver one she used during the Renaissance Tour in 2023, which mirrored the album’s cover. The Cowboy Carter album cover also features her perched atop a horse.

The Cowboy Carter Tour began in Los Angeles in April and has made its way to Chicago, New Jersey, London, and Paris, with plans to wrap up in Las Vegas on July 26. The tour has included special appearances by her daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi, while the Paris show saw a rare onstage collaboration with husband Jay-Z.

The tour supports Beyoncé’s foray into country, with the album seeing groundbreaking success at the 2025 Grammy Awards. The record earned both Best Country Album and Album of the Year—the superstar’s first Album of the Year win in her storied career.
