A 72-year-old driver from Manassas, Virginia, suffered minor injuries early Friday when his vehicle crashed on Interstate 44 in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol's preliminary online crash report states the wreck happened at approximately 1:07 a.m. on July 3, 2026, about two miles east of Fidelity. The driver was traveling west in a 2018 Mercedes Benz Sprinter when the single-vehicle crash occurred, the report says.

According to the Highway Patrol, the driver sustained minor injuries and was transported for medical treatment. No other vehicles were reported involved, and no fatalities resulted from the crash.
