Three people suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Missouri Highway U at Weeks Street in Lilbourn, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened the evening of Aug. 8, 2026, at approximately 6:50 p.m., the patrol's online crash report states. A 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor was traveling westbound on Highway U at the time of the incident, according to the report.
The driver, a 25-year-old man from Portageville, sustained serious injuries, the patrol said. A 23-year-old male passenger from Cape Girardeau was also seriously injured and transported for medical treatment, according to the report. A juvenile occupant of the vehicle likewise sustained serious injuries and was taken for medical care, the patrol said.
No fatalities were reported in connection with the crash, which is identified in patrol records as incident 260335673 in New Madrid County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop E is investigating.
