One person died and another was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on US-50 east of MO-BB in Franklin County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol said the crash occurred around 2:07 p.m. and involved a 2023 Nissan Maxima and a 2018 Nissan Altima, both traveling westbound at the time.

A 55-year-old man from Union, MO, sustained fatal injuries and was transported for medical treatment, the patrol reported. A 48-year-old woman, also from Union, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Light drizzle was falling in the area at the time of the crash, according to weather data.

The crash falls under the jurisdiction of Troop C, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating. The incident has been logged under crash report number 260363453.
