A 23-year-old Villa Ridge woman suffered moderate injuries early Sunday when the car she was driving crashed on Interstate 44 in Franklin County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at approximately 1:23 a.m. on eastbound I-44 near mile marker 252.4, the Patrol's online crash report states. The driver's 2013 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling westbound at the time of the single-vehicle collision, according to the preliminary report.

The driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of her injuries, the Patrol said. No other vehicles or occupants were reported involved in the crash.
