A juvenile driver died and three others were injured in a two-vehicle collision on MO-80 about a half mile west of East Prairie, according to a preliminary crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 12:25 a.m. on August 30, 2026, the patrol's online report states. A 2024 Kia K5 GT was traveling northbound when it collided with a 2016 Jeep Wrangler traveling eastbound, according to the report.
The juvenile driver involved in the crash sustained fatal injuries and was transported for medical treatment, the Highway Patrol said. Three other occupants were also taken to area hospitals. An 18-year-old woman from Charleston, Missouri, suffered moderate injuries, while an 18-year-old man from East Prairie sustained serious injuries, the report indicates. A 23-year-old man from Sikeston, Missouri, was reported to have minor injuries.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop E is investigating the crash, which has been logged under incident number 260367716, according to the patrol.
