A two-vehicle crash on US 62 just east of Risco left two men injured, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at 4:31 p.m. on July 10, about a quarter mile east of Risco in New Madrid County, per the Highway Patrol's online crash report. A 2025 Freightliner was traveling northbound when it collided with a 2026 Chevrolet Trax traveling eastbound, the report states.

A 45-year-old man from Steele, Missouri, sustained minor injuries and was transported for medical treatment, according to the Highway Patrol. A 62-year-old man from New Madrid, Missouri, sustained moderate injuries and was also taken for treatment, the report says.

Light drizzle was falling in the area at the time, according to weather data.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Troop E is investigating the crash, which was logged under incident number 260289863.
