A crash on MO-28 in Maries County left one man dead and another injured, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol said the collision occurred on July 29, 2026, at 6:40 a.m. at 33998 MO-28, within the Troop I jurisdiction. Investigators reported that a 2020 Ford F350 was traveling westbound while a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica was headed eastbound when the two vehicles collided.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 25-year-old man from St. James, MO, died at the scene as a result of the crash. An 18-year-old man from Owensville, MO, sustained moderate injuries and was transported for medical treatment, the patrol said.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash, which involved the two vehicles and their drivers. No additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision have been released.
