An 82-year-old man was seriously injured Sunday in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 24 near Buckner, about one mile east of the community, according to KMIZ.

The man was driving a 2021 Honda Pioneer Side-by-Side UTV westbound on Highway 24 at the time of the crash, the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report states. The UTV was involved in a collision with a Chariton County Sheriff's Department vehicle, KMIZ reported.

The crash happened around midday Sunday, according to available reports. The 82-year-old was transported to a hospital with serious injuries following the collision, KMIZ said. No fatalities were reported, and one other vehicle occupant was involved in the incident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances that led to the collision between the two vehicles.
