A Lockwood man suffered moderate injuries Thursday afternoon when the van he was driving crashed on Interstate 44 west of Springfield, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. on I-44 Westbound at mile marker 76.2, about half a mile west of Springfield, the Patrol's online crash report shows. The 44-year-old driver was operating a 2016 Ford Transit Van westbound when the single-vehicle wreck occurred, per the report.

Light drizzle was falling in the area at the time, according to weather data.

The driver was transported for medical treatment after sustaining moderate injuries, the Patrol said. No other vehicles were reported involved in the crash.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D responded to the scene. The incident is logged under report number 260438456.
