Worker dead after being hit by a train at Metro construction site in Miracle Mile area (Los Angeles, CA)

A worker died after being hit by a train Wednesday afternoon at the future site of the Wilshire/La Brea Station on Metro’s Purple Line Extension Project.

As per the initial information, the emergency crews actively responded to an area under construction near La Brea Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard on reports of a pedestrian accident just before 5 p.m.

The early reports showed that the person was pinned under the train and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The incident did not cause any other injuries. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
