Woman seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Bay Park (San Diego, CA)

A woman was seriously injured after being struck by a pickup truck Thursday morning in Bay Park.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place at around 7:50 a.m. on Clairemont Drive at Rappahannock Avenue, close to the South Clairemont Recreation Center just south of Clairemont High School and Marston Middle School.

The early reports showed that the 2004 Ford F-150 was traveling south when the victim, a woman believed to be in her 60s, walked into the street heading toward the park and was hit just south of the crosswalk at Rappahannock Avenue.

On arrival, medics rushed the woman to a hospital with injuries that were considered to be life-threatening. The F-150’s driver, a 27-year-old man, remained unharmed in the accident. No other information is available.

The incident remains under review.
