Woman killed after being struck by vehicle in Spring Valley (Spring Valley, NV)

A woman killed after a car hit her Sunday night in the southwest part of the valley.

The incident took place at around 8 p.m. on Rainbow Boulevard at Spring Valley Parkway North, police said.

The investigation indicates that a woman, wearing all black clothing was pushing a shopping cart. Meanwhile, she was crossing Rainbow outside of a marked crosswalk and against the pedestrian signal.

A Chrysler, going southbound, advanced towards the intersection on a green light and crashed into the pedestrian.

Subsequently, medical staff rushed the 67-year-old woman to UMC Trauma. However, she succumbed to her injuries later in the hospital.

Following the crash, the driver of the Chrysler stayed on scene and displayed no symptoms of impairment, according to police.

An investigation is ongoing.
