Woman injured after a wreck in Fresno; Lanian Lee and Cornelio Cedillo Ramirez detained for DUI (Fresno, CA)

A woman received injuries after a crash Sunday morning in Fresno involving three vehicles.

As per the initial information, the pedestrian accident took place at about 1:45 a.m. on Chestnut Avenue and Highway 180. The preliminary reports showed that a woman riding as a passenger in a white Chevy truck had stopped at a red light. Afterwards, a Chevy Cruze struck the back of the truck.

After the crash, the woman and the driver got out of the truck to talk to the other driver. Just then, a gray Lexus struck the woman. Due to the impact, the woman was thrown into the roadway about 10 to 15 feet away. The woman apparently had suffered significant injuries – trauma to her head and upper torso.

The woman is listed in stable condition, however, she had significant head trauma, and the last reports revealed that she had a broken shoulder. Authorities confirmed that the woman and the truck driver did not display any signs of intoxication. The reports also determined that the driver of the Lexus and the driver of Chevy Cruze were both suspected of DUI.

Officers detained Lanian Lee and 50-year-old Cornelio Cedillo Ramirez into custody. They booked both of them on charges of driving while intoxicated. Lee was booked on felony charges of being an intoxicated driver while causing injury/death, driving with a 0.08% alcohol level while causing death/injury, and a misdemeanor allegation of driving with a suspended license.
