On early Saturday morning, a woman suffered critical injuries after her vehicle drifted off the freeway and hit a tree in Taylor.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of westbound I-94 at Ecorse Road at around 3:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a single-vehicle crash. The early reports showed that a vehicle swerved off the westbound I-94 and crashed into a tree.
The driver was a 24-year-old woman from Van Buren Township who was going too fast and failed to maintain control of the vehicle. Reports further added that the woman was pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated by using the Jaws of Life. She was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. No additional information has been provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
