Woman in critical condition after being hit twice on Carmel Drive (Lafayette, LA)

On Friday, a woman suffered critical injuries after getting struck by two vehicles on Carmel Drive.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 6:11 PM in the 1200 block of Carmel Drive. The early reports showed that a female pedestrian was walking on the side of the road, when she got hit by a vehicle that was heading northbound.

The force of the collision caused the woman to land in the southbound lane, where she was struck by a second vehicle that was going in the southbound lane. On arrival, emergency crews rushed the pedestrian to a local hospital in critical condition. No other details were provided.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
