On Friday night, a woman suffered critical injuries after a vehicle crashed into a tree in the Porter Ranch neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley.
As per the initial information, the traffic collision was reported at 10:39 p.m. in the 10700 block of North Vanalden Avenue. The early reports showed that a pickup truck smashed into a tree for undetermined reasons. The woman was pinned inside the vehicle as a result of the accident.
On arrival, responders worked to extricate the female driver from the wreckage. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to pry open the roof of the truck to reach the trapped woman. The victim was rushed to an area trauma center with critical injuries. No other details are made available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
