Woman hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision in Holland Township (Holland Township, MI)

On Friday evening, a woman suffered injuries after a traffic collision in Holland Township.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of Butternut Drive north of James Street at 6 p.m. after getting reports of a two-vehicle crash. The early reports showed that a 49-year-old Holland woman was driving a gold Mercury SUV. The woman pulled out of the El Huarache Mexican restaurant into the path of a northbound maroon Jeep SUV, driven by a 34-year-old woman, of Holland.

The Jeep driver remained unharmed in the accident. The Mercury driver was trapped inside her vehicle, but was finally extricated by the emergency responders. She was rushed to Holland Hospital with non-fatal injuries. A passenger in the Mercury, a 3-month old boy, was properly safe in a child safety seat and did not receive any injuries. No other details are made available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
