Woman hospitalized after a car slams into a utility pole on the Southeast Side (San Antonio, TX)

A woman was taken to a hospital after a car rammed into a utility pole on the Southeast Side.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place just before 5 a.m. Wednesday on Pecan Valley Drive and Arrid Road near South Side Lions Park. The early reports showed that the vehicle ran off the road for unknown reasons and crashed into a utility pole.

The woman driving was trapped inside the vehicle due to the impact, while her passenger was able to get out. Firefighters utilized the Jaws of Life to extricate the woman and then took her to the hospital. She is currently listed in stable condition. Police said alcohol did not contribute to the accident. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
