A woman lost her life and a man was hospitalized following a fiery collision Sunday morning in Houston.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place in front of a house in the 1500 block of Chimney Rock in the Tanglewood area. The early reports showed that a black vehicle was heading on Chimney Rock when the vehicle veered off the roadway, hit the curb, ran through a yard and collided with a tree.
The vehicle caught fire due to the impact. A group of good Samaritans in the neighborhood who witnessed the crash attempted to rescue the two victims from the vehicle while trying to extinguish the fire. The good Samaritans managed to rescue a male passenger by breaking out the back window of the vehicle.
The man survived, but officials suspect the woman, was killed on impact from the crash. The male passenger did not suffer substantial burns. He was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition. The man was not able to tell them the identity of who was driving at the time of the collision. Officials were unable to find out if the person was intoxicated. No other details are available.
