Woman dead following an auto-pedestrian collision on Bell Road in north Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

A woman in her 50s lost her life after being struck by a car Wednesday night in north Phoenix.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place near 17th Avenue and Bell Road. Authorities actively responded to the scene at around 8:45 p.m. On arrival, they found the woman with traumatic injuries on the roadway. The woman was rushed to a hospital where she was later declared dead.

The preliminary reports showed that the woman was crossing Bell Road midblock outside of the crosswalk when a man driving a red SUV hit her. The reports also revealed that the man remained unharmed and did not show signs of impairment. He stayed at the scene. No other information is available.

The accident remains under investigation.
