Woman dead after being hit by a vehicle in Kern County (Bakersfield, CA)

A woman lost her life after getting struck by a vehicle Monday night in Kern County.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at around 8:53 p.m. on N Chester Avenue and Lincoln Avenue. The preliminary reports showed that a southbound vehicle hit the woman outside a crosswalk. The driver of the Blue GMC Yukon stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Drugs and alcohol were not involved in the accident. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
